David Coveney

This has turned out to be quite a year so far. It’s just 2/3rds the way through and look what’s happened…

Possibly the saddest story so far. Not for me, but for him. He missed out on so much he didn’t need to.  Still, a chapter in my life is now closed. I can never reconcile things with him directly, but it matters no more.  And that means acknowledging and accepting both his and my mistakes of the past.

This was a coincidental moment…in essence we looked for each other the same time, dithered about how to contact one another, then she beat me to it by just a few days.

So after nearly thirty years without one another, we’re there. That our father died just a few months later makes this all the more poignant…and important.

Along with my friend James, I run a little company called Interconnect IT. And finally we worked out this business lark, with 2010 marking some pretty big successes.

And let’s remember the most amazing thing…the birth of our son Conrad in May.  Everything that’s happened above is life-changing, but Conrad is changing me and that’s really something.

And on top of this, I managed to get to see the amazing Salar de Uyuni.  A surreal, barren landscape that really deserves the word awesome.

So in summary, an amazing year.  And there’s four months left.  Hah…let’s see what it brings.  One things for sure, Auld Lang Syne will have me blubbing like a girl at he beginning of 2011.

Dave says:

Well, it’s posh as in it didn’t have lines, got nicked from the printer, or had been torn from a notebook!

It’s just white, with a bit of a watermark, if I remember rightly. I suppose I should write some letters now just to use it up!

Have your say
